Writers block

And I don't mean those meme things either. Each time I settle down with my notes to hand and start to tap away on the keyboard my mind goes completely blank. It's so FRUSTRATING!!! I think maybe it's time to go back to basics and break out the feint lined foolscap and Bic pencils again. There's so much to do though!

Poor you. Good luck with battling your writer's block - it can be nasty. (Is there anything that could get you writing without notes? For me, putting my characters in ludicrous situations and writing them out of them again works at times).

Oh that's a fun idea! I might try that.

I'm in a boring bit of my main story and have tried to give myself a boost by dropping it and picking up one of the others but I think I might be worrying too much about writing WELL rather than doing what I normally do which is let it flow. Putting my people into silliness sounds like fun.

I know the feeling. Sometimes it helps to use your mind differently...have you tried writing poetry or sketching?

I need to do some sketching. I think that part of the problem is that quite a bit of the writing I do is stuff that I need to do to fill in RPG plot rather than something I'm passionate about. When something becomes a job it stops being fun.

I think I'll draw a comic strip and see if that gives me a boost. If it turns out well I'll post it.

oof! now that yo utal kabout writing! i'm rereadign gof and if i' not mistaken there was a gilbert wimple (sp>) mentioned in there and i immediately thought 'hey, didnt' essayel write about that guy' i sure as hell thought he was an oc ofo yours, including the name i mean. he still is nan oc of course since it's the only time he ever popped up in a book by jkr but still,,.

Yes that's his one and only mention in the HP books. I was so glad to see that he wasn't part of the Deathy Hallows blood bath, but she DID mention the Experimental Charms people as having been present at the battle of Hogwarts taking extreme chances. Gil would have definitely been one of them! Will be if I ever finish his story.

I am roleplaying still and I think that's part of the problem. It takes a lot of energy and time - I can't do anything else while I'm doing it - and it's not as much fun as it was. I need to have a bit of a change around and get some oomph back into my writing.
