The call of the wild

I love the way you can see the cute little fluff ball working it out in her fuzzy little noggin that she shouldn't be playing with a ball in her basket but should be pursuing caribou across the tundra. Apparently Sizz howls when we go out and leave him. Bless!

The walk this morning was brief, skatey and over as soon as Sizz had produced. Any day when the DOG falls over is one where I'm keen to put off the walk until the sun is high enough to have melted the ice a bit.

I'm having a quiet and leisurely morning. Last night we went to a friends house to sing carols and drink her ferocious cocktails. I politely declined the latter [wanting to be able to see today] but Paul and Jen enjoyed themselves very much. Possibly a little too much in Paul's case. My he was ill. I've had about 2 hours sleep firstly due to him being ill and secondly to him going to sleep and chatting about arrow making. Most of the chat is unintelligible but he drops enough proper words in to make it entertaining - "Mumble mumble NOCKS mumble mumble thirty inches mumble". Yes, I would sooner have been asleep but verbal arrowmaking is a vast improvement over the term time whimpering of "no no no no no". Roll on July!

Even the most absurd little fluffball of a dog, the type that Paris Hilton carries in her handbag, is a wolf at heart. :D

I don't normally react well to cute but this little thing got to me. I love the way she gets scared at the beginning and takes refuge in her basket "Hah! Can't get me here!"

Oh yes, like Stephan's old dog when we made him howl like a wolf by all howling like a wolf.

I met Stephan's ex last night while dragging my laundry to the laundromat to be tumble-dried; he already has a new dog. And a new bloke. Ah well, such is life.-

Some people find it hard to manage without a dog. Mum and Dad got a new pup about a month after their old dog died. She'd left such a terrible hole in their lives.

Oh yes, I quite see that. The new dog is more conventionally cute, pale and fluffy and still young and a bit gawky.

Aw, bless. What a sweety. To supplement our student loans my friend and I used to walk a dog, a gorgeous rough coated Labrador, Harry, who used to howl when he heard emergency vehicles approaching. So funny. Apparently some atavistic instinct kicks in and they are howling to the 'pack'.
Glad you escaped uninjured this morning. ;-)

I'm glad too. Twice in 2 days would have made me feel too decrepit :D

My little one looks much like Sizz. This vid made me smile so much!

The puppy is sweet, isn't she? Talk about a fast learner.

I love that head tilt thing they do. You can almost see the little wheels turning in their heads as they work it out.

Crash wouldn't howl along with other dogs; he saved his best howling for "lectures:" unruly puppies, family rowdiness-- I even saw him once actually STEP ON a yappy little terrier and then howl at him. "Pay attention, rapscallion! Your behaviour is EXCESSIVE!!" At the dog park they called him the school principal.

Headmaster Crash - I'd be happy to have been in his school!

Is that your puppy?! He's adorable!

You are very wise to avoid the cocktails. I never trust the damn things! At least you know where you are with a glass of wine :}

No, not mine. Just a pup I spotted on Youtube when I was looking for something else. I don't normally much like 'cute' but I thought the way she yelped and took refuge in her bed, then learned what was going on, then joined in, was very impressive.

you know where you are with a glass of wine

Hungover usually :(

Not my puppy. She's a dear little scrap but I like more substantial dogs. Mine, Sizz short for Sirius, is huge and black and his howl is basso profundo. One expects to see Holmes and Watson scampering across Grimpen Mire in response.

That's adorable.

OMG, that little dog is just too adorable!!

I must admit that I prefer my huge black hearthrug of a dog, but that puppy is very cute. She's like a Japanese cartoon puppy.

Well this is just the most precious little pup i've ever seen! I've never been much of a dog person, but this cutie? Oh this one could change that in a heartbeat!!
Absolutely Adorable!

Hug this puppy for me, would you? :)

Honestly I prefer my dog, huge and hairy though he is. The puppy is cute but Pomeranians don't do much for me.

What a sweetie! What breed or mix?

Cassie got up, came over beside me, and stared at the speakers until the howling stopped... She's part Husky and though she's only howled once (I wish she'd do it more often), she was really paying attention.

[identity profile] essayel.livejournal.com 2011-12-20 09:19 pm (UTC)(link)
The entry on Youtube said she is a Pomeranian. I've only seen adults before and they were so teased that they were real fluffballs. This little lady looks much more dog like.

My dog completely ignored the howling and brought me his lead instead. He is a single minded creature.
