Two things today, not necessarily disconnected.
Firstly this - Glbt Writers and Readers Launch Revolutionary Online Community. You can find the community here. It's really worth a look.
Secondly, there's a possibility of a British Writers conference somewhere in the UK in 2010, mainly for writers from small presses though there are people involved who have 'proper' books printed on paper with IBNs and everything! Any authors who might be interested in attending, any readers who might enjoy watching authors do stuff and buy their books to get them signed can go look on this Yahoo group.
That's the important stuff done.
Today has been one of those lovely WET summer days. It started raining around six this morning and fnished about four pm. It's PROPER summer rain. Warm and light and persistent so it dampened everything nicely and freshened the air without beating everything flat. The other advantage is that it makes everything smell wonderful. When I took the dog round the block at lunchtime, the scent of honeysuckle in the lane was almost overpowering. And roses and sheep and the smell of the grass. The dog stood with his nose up and rain dripping off his ears and just breathed it all in.
