My inner Yurrupean is Russian, which is probably my ancestry telling. And I am 70% British, which could conceivably be those Huguenots all those years back?

mine surprised me since the heritage I can trace is German and French, yet my inner European is Irish... Must be the redheaddedness :) I'm also 55% British according to the mighty blogthing. I'd like to get there eventually though.

Well going by my visit to a 'mall' you'd feel right at home because there are all the same shops.

The weather is different though.

The problem with being English is that you don't have any heritage. The Irish, Scots and Welsh can take pride in their Celtic ancestry but English - forget it, we are all mutts.

Quite possibly. Huguenot types have tended to roam.

Like most English I have no real sense of heritage because we're all mutts. However the lady who inspects skeletal feet for race linked markers tells me that my feet are pure Celtic - probably from taking after my grandpa who came from such a low lying part of the Essex marshes that even the Romans didn't want it. Actually I'm lucky they aren't webbed.

aah, cummonn-- muttness is a fine heritage. Conquering by assimilation, etc. and a lesson to the rest of the world. Best language ever-- because no official Academy is busy keeping it "pure."
