[livejournal.com profile] yakalskovich just drew my attention to The House of Night series which she describes as Twilight/Harry Potter/Enid Blyton [one of the most terrifying OT3s in can imagine]. It looks as though it might be car crash fasicnating from the Wikipedia page where one part of the synopsis reads "Zoey has hot vampyre blood sex with Loren and imprints with him, effectively breaking her imprint with Heath, causing him great physical pain and causing her to breakup with Erik."

In other news - I love bikers - our sort of bikers anyway. I was passing a car park earlier and there is a kids playground next door and a small kid fell over and screamed 'Dad'. Fully 50% of the big hairy leather clad men poring over each others bikes look round with concern and a round dozen strode across to see if they could be of assistance, including one shaved headed hard man who chirped, in perfectly rounded RP, "Might I help? I'm a paediatrician."

It's so hot at night at the moment that I have absconded to the spare room and am taking my notebook and pen with me. Writing myself to sleep is very calming but poses puzzles the next morning. The last thing I wrote last night was "She appplied new bandages to his stump and gave him a dose of medicine that tasted like bootscrapings but took all the pain away and filled him with a worm toblerone glomp." At least that's what it looks like.

I very illicitly watched a bit of the new series of True Blood last night. Anyone else totally in love with Pam?

I shudder to imagine what "worm toblerone" might be.

Not sure what a rounded RP is - but I presume it is an accent or like - but yes - I love bikers especially like these

I think it was intended to be "warm tolerant glow" but my hand was wandering as well as my mind.

Received pronounciation - like what the Queen does.

We get the born-again bikers who tend to be in their 40s and 50s and very well off. They look the part but tend not to rip up bars and terrorise people. The A40, which goes through Aberg is fantastic for motorbikes and all year round, but especially in summer, we have huge roaring packs of them sweeping through town in a very stately procession on their way to the coast. Keep on going and they reach Fishguard and the ferry.

'Born-again biker' is a nice way of putting it. I think Harley Davidson has a problem with an aging clientele and a sort-of involuntary rebranding as midlife crisis distraction toy...

They are the only people who can afford Harleys and Triumph Bonnevilles and OMG the occasional snarling Vincent!

Is there no market for used bikes that younger bikers could afford?

Not a Vincent (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/vincent-black-shadow-motorbike-/220626041317?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_Motorcycles&hash=item335e5639e5#ht_1775wt_930).

You can get a Bonneville for a few thousand but young folk tend to have boughht one out of their earnings which means they are in work at 10 o'clock on a sunny Wednesday morning. It's the semit-retired doctors, dentists, lawyers, stockbrokers etc who can be pootling around then.
