So glad they haven't "Gimli"ed Aidan Turner but I'll admit to considerable curiosity about what they have done to Richard Armitage.
I'm on the mend but Himself has got the lurgy and honestly the end of term can't come fast enough. He's bad enough this far into the school year without his chest bubbling like a stock pot. I get pathetic and keep out of the way when I'm ill. He gets angry and tries to carry on as normal with extra rage - it's all very stressful, especially around 1 am when we're both still awake and one daren't move or cough or anything else really.
Now I can see straight again I'll catch up on my reading. Why do pdfs go wierd on my ereader? I have several that are fine for the first 10 pages then minimise and I just can't get the writing big enough to read. Possibly there's something off with the DRM. But I have read one very large story, self published by the quality of editing, and I'm not sure if I'm enjoying it for the right reasons. It's a m/m fantasy, in fact part one of 3, with a very young, precocious and incredibly accomplished hero who suffers quite beautifully and is given plenty of reason to. It's an interesting enough story but every woman in it is like Cersei Lannister with PMS, [unless they are something for the troops to do, in which case they are middle aged and diseased]. They deceive, delude, gyp, humiliate, oppress and murder the men. I should be appalled, and some of it is really appalling, but some of the time I find myself grinning. Kick-ass ladies in fantasy novels who aren't the token totty member of the hero gang - makes a lovely change.
I finished it in the wee hours last night and now am going to read "Perfect Score" by Sue Monte about which I have heard very good things.
