(no subject)

Good golly who'd be a parent!! What with Jenny being very very teenaged - though not strictly entitled because she's only ten - and Mike's mate passing out in the bathroom courtesy of half a bottle of tequila, I've about had it with kids this week. Mike was funny though. He'd had some tequila, too, just to be sociable, he said. And when his friend showed signs of trying to drink himself to death Mike took the bottle away and smashed it. The poor friend was in a dreadful state and Mike did his best to cope with him but eventually what had gone in had to come out - luckily we got him to the bathroom in time. Once the friend had gone Mike quietly slid down the wall too. "The room won't stop moving!" he said. I pointed out that he should treat it as a learning experience and asked if he intended to do it again. "Bugger me, no!" he said. "I'm never, never doing this again. I shall eschew all alcohlic substances. I shall join a nunnery and die a tee-total virgin in a wimple!" So while he may not have been able to stand up at least his vocabulary hadn't deserted him.
I have had about the best review ever!! And I can't even write to the reviewer to express my appreciation though the comment was rather barbed. I posted "A New Specimen For Hagrid" even though it stank and my first review was from Chimaera520, a stalwart reviewer on Black Dog. He/She said something along the lines of "it is only my admiration for your other fics that enabled me to finish reading this one". I love that and would dearly love to tell them so but my email was returned!
I've been working on bits of Mattress2 and append this snippet mainly because it's one I think I may have to draw:
Draco tossed the cards down and leaned back, draping one forearm in it’s spiked wristlets across the back of the chair and scratching the varnish. Since embracing Gothdom with both arms, his attire had gone to ever new extremes. Remus eyed him with affectionate amusement. The “Draco in leather trousers” brigade didn’t know the half of it.
