Apr. 18th, 2003 05:36 pmGood Friday - and it is rather. Paul cooked me a meal last night - avocado, poached salmon, olive and parmesan salad and bioche and strawberries with Marsala and mascarpone cheese washed down with Poilly Fuisse. And I haven't got a hangover!
Kate sent me a parcel with copies of 'Whispering Gallery' and 'Marzipan and Kisses' plus her cherished copy of Gemini and I finished it this afternoon, sitting in the sun with Chablis and a chunky KitKat - could life be better. Mind you, by the time I got to the end of the book I was whimpering quietly. As a climax to a series of eight it is pretty superb with angst piled upon angst and a scene where Nicholas is 'demolished' that had me gasping. Now I need to get my thoughts in order and write a massive report for Kate to find out whether I understood it or not. I wish ajhalluk read these so she could tell me whether I've missed much subtext. I think I can spot the unreliable narrators for myself now - I've been practicing.
Last night I got my email sorted and sent off chapters to Cas and Anise, and one to Marianne ,so I am up to date and can write my own stuff with a clear conscience. I haven't yet had permission from my 'dedicatee' so I think maybe she has decided that she doesn't want to be guilty by association (or it was so ungrammatical it squicked her beyond bearing)therefore I will post the last of chapter of Black Dog without specifying who it is I'm talking about!
