Apr. 9th, 2005 03:10 pmIt's rather sobering to discover that one is actually worth more dead than alive but I had a nice little document this morning as a Local Government Employee that effectively proved that I'll be more valuable to my nearest and dearest if I pop my clogs now rather than if I work until I'm sixty-five.
This initiated a very pleasant conversation during which my husband and I planned my funeral, even choosing music - Heaven Is So Far Away by the Offspring and, rather worryingly, Poison by Alice Cooper. We were just discussing the rival merits of burial, on land or sea, cremation or exhumance when we were disturbed by Jenny who, evesdropping, had got the wrong end of the stick.
She didn't think it was funny. We then had to plan Paul's and, at his request, will be scattered on the hills while Jenny and I render Edge of Darkness by Eric Clapton on comb and paper.
So that's settled. A very useful Saturday morning.
