My last update was about the prettiness of the countryside, the busyness of the wild life, etc. This one is about why the blue buggery do people have to do their best to spoil it?

I was out walking himself again on Sunday afternoon and saw a little puff of smoke go up on the Deri. It was dry and sunny for the fourth day running with a strong cold wind so within a minute a huge roaring wall of flame was racing up the hill. It was arson, of course, and now that whole lovely patch of rusty brown bracken between the footpath and the bottom of the oak woods is black and scorched. It happened last year as well, and I have no doubt will happen again before the summer is over. By the time I'd scampered home and called the fire brigade I couldn't see the woods for smoke.

I was surprised to see this though. What is it? Some kind of sick competition? Didn't the idiots with the matches see the news reports about the fires in Australia? But then I suppose their brains aren't wired to see something like that and think 'oops I could kill someone' - they just look at the flames and think 'pretty'.
