Lord Peter Wimsey - no question about it. He was intelligent, humorous, compassionate, ruthless if necessary, stylish, competent and a thoroughly nice man BUT had a number of intense and believable character flaws, not least his utter fixation on Harriet Vane who really didn't deserve him. And if he was busy I'd happily accept Bunter.
I'm getting myself organised for my trip. Still don't believe that an email with a barcode in it is sufficient proof for 4 separate flights but the young gentleman I spoke to on the phone assured me it is. ( However, )
