Writer's Block: Mix and Mingle

Simple. I avoid social situations so I don't have to deal with my shyness.
My work is very social and I'm dealing with people all day, both face to face and over the phone. I can cope with that but the sort of gathering where lots of people get together in a room to chat and drink and - sheesh - for FUN! No, I don't get it. Occasionally I have to go to something like that but then I wander round collecting glasses and take them into the kitchen to wash them. My annual nightmare is the works Christmas social because that's in a hotel and hotels don't like people invading the kitchen. To up the angst level nobody is allowed to talk about work so we sit and look at the menus a lot.
I guess I'm just a party pooper. Also it explains why I don't do well in 'gossip' style RPGs. Just as in RL I can never thing of anything to say.
