Ouch, that stupid stick

Got off to a good early start this morning then this happened in order:

• Couldn't get the car to start


• Couldn't find the lever to open the bonnet to find out why the car wouldn't start


• Found and pushed pulled poked and twiddled alever - but the bonnet still wouldn't open


• Swore a lot, grabbed bags and started to hoof it to work, texting the cleaner to tell her I'd be late


• Bags TOO heavy


• checked phone to see if cleaner had replied - but it said 'unable to send text - retry?' Told it to retry.


• tried to ring - no network coverage


• received text from daughter that she had sent yesterday


• tried to text cleaner again


• "Unable to send text - retry?" Gave up and walked faster


• neared museum feeling for museum keys in pocket - not museum keys - CAR keys


• entertain vague recollection of tossing keys into bag in a fit of temper - not in bag either


• decisions - five minute walk to museum to confess to cleaner OR 15 minute walk home to find keys then 20 minutes back to museum, leaving cleaner not knowing what the fuck is going on?

*sigh* are we sure it's a Wednesday? It feels more like a Thursday to me.
