Sep. 6th, 2003 05:54 pmSpent most of this afternoon painting the sitting room. This was boring. However, I did get to wear a white boiler suit. There are probably very few people under thirty who will appreciate how wearing a white boiler suit can make you think of bowler hats and make you talk in Russian. Paul told me to shut up and get on with it so I relieved my feelings by singing Beethoven. (For those who are baffled these are 'Clockwork Orange' references.)
Since finishing the painting I have read a synopsis of the whole (all 26 episodes!) of Escaflowne and feel that one really needs to see the cartoon to develop an appreciation of the characters. Also I suspect that I may have missed bits. Also I am confused about Dilandau - male pyromaniac psychotic who later turns out to be someone's sister? I'll try to get hold of a copy of the film - there's a nice chubby Goth with waist length hair and piercings who has a stall in the market and seems to be able to get just about anything in the DVD line.
Meantime I have chapter 17 of Jewel of the Harem to beta - or rather to finish betaing. This chapter is a bit stressful and I can't do too much at a time or I get overwrought! There's no fool like an old fool!
