I’m posting this quiz here (behind the cut) because I really really like the images. Go and have a look – they are a cut above! I especially like “Quickness”! I wish I could paint like that.

cunning
Cunning. Through use of many of life's faculties,
you've managed to suceed greatly. It may not
seem so to many, but isn't the the point most
times? It's only a matter of knowing more then
the others, right? I'm scared of people like
you, but in the same time, admire the ability
to see more then just the big picture; you see
yourself in it every time. You survived the end
by knowing who to knock down so you got that
last spot in the bunker... nicely done.

How would you survive the end of the world?

The pictures cheered me up after a particularly narking day. Last Thursday the boss came down looking a bit shamefaced and asked if I’d be prepared to go on a ‘course’ on Tuesday (today). What on? I asked. It didn’t matter, she replied. It was one of those situations where the Authority had spent a huge amount on getting all kinds of expensive consultants in to provide presentations on various subjects and they were now desperate to get bums on seats. The Museums Officer had been quizzed why nobody from his section was going. Obviously he was too busy and important to go and wouldn’t let any of his staff go because that would leave him shorthanded. So it came down the hierarchy until it reached someone expendable – me. It didn’t matter what I went on as long as I upheld the reputation of Museums services by turning up sober and not decking anyone. They’d put me down for ‘Work/Life Balance – how to manage home life and work’ and I had a good laugh about that because just as I left the house the phone rang and it was the school to say that the boiler had blown up during the night, there was no heat and so the school is closed until further notice. I went to the course anyway and left Mike and Jen to celebrate. The course – which consisted of sitting in a room and watching a Powerpoint presentation commentated upon by a small woman with an almost unintelligible Northern accent – was clearly designed for salaried managers rather than paid by the hour oiks such as myself and I was the only one to answer who didn’t claim ‘a vocation’ but worked because I rather enjoy eating and wearing clothes and paying my bills. Oh it was dire! They even made us fill in a form about our ‘experience’. I was honest…the worst thing about the ourse was the knowledge that I was wasting my day there just so somebaoy in County Hall could put a tick in a box and the best thing about the course was the architecture! I’ve made arrangements to go back there with a digicam to get some pictures because the venue was Hillston Park – a small but delicious Palladian mansion – with many features that I can adapt for illustrations of Malfoy Manor.

Wow, Buffalo Bill Cody's great grandson is on the telly - lovely long brown curls just like his great grandad! And, damn, he has Bill Weasley with him. Six foot four with flaming copper hair in a ponytail but no earring and he's operating a radar machine. It's funny the things you see on BBC2.

For what it is worth to you, that had me laughing my ass off. The image of you in a dark room being babbled at via Power Point. Yes, the experience was not pleasent, but oh mercy was it funny to read! :)

It took me a while to figure out you were attending the course instead of teaching the course...but this is what finally decided me. ^_~ Just teasing--but I wish I could take this course!

Going off to take the quiz now. ^_^

I took the quiz, came out "innocent". Took it again and again, thought I was choosing different answers, came out "cunning" every time. Oh well--

I like the suggestion above about pretending to take notes but actually writing something totally INAPPROPRIATE. That's how I get through teachers' meetings, and believe me nobody puts on more USELESS meetings than school administrators.

Congrats to Jenny and Mike on their good fortune... :D

*miffed* told me I'd survive through innocence. Can't see it somehow.

These hideous management events are only any good if the free lunch is fabby. I have a horrible feeling I tend to sit there with a sarcsastic sneer on my face, looking round at the clones in the room who actually believe the crap.

BTW you always have to fill in a form at the end - in the trade it's called a 'happy sheet'. Ostensibly it's so they can evaluate what they've done, personally I think it's just to keep some wee person back at the office occupied keying in the results into a database.

I took the quiz and I got-
Confussion. Yeah, you're not all there... the world
may of ended, but you'd be damned if that was a
concern to you. I mean, there's things to do,
people to see, and nuclear winters to explore.
And besides, what's radiation anyway? la la la

They know me so well ;-)

>>Happy sheet<<

Quite.

"What was the thing you liked most about the course?"
"The architecture."
