essayelRecently I have:
Spent 15 hours painting slightly different shades of grey then 12 painting slightly different shades of brown.
Had my knee popped out of joint [and back in again thank god] by an over excited dog.
[immediately following the above]Been told to get up of the floor and stop messing about by an exasperated husband.
Seen two white lambs, lit pale gold by dawn sun, nuzzling, puzzled, at their dead mother.
Had the following exchange by IM:
Daughter[with one of those insanely long MsnMessenger screen names]: i no wat i want for my burfday
me: Oh? what's that?
Daughter: Cn i get a flesh hole
me: no
Had a customer in the museum tell me, quite earnestly, that there's no 'history' in the Valleys prior to the industrial revolution.
Wondered if Archbp. Rowan Williams is going to take out a fatwah[sp???] on Dan Brown, then decided that, really, it's not worth the bother.
Heard the following exchange between husband and daughter:
H: the dog needs a walk.
D: so?
H: Can you take him?
D: No
H: I beg your pardon - WHY not?
D: Because you grounded me yesterday. Confined to barracks! Nyaah nyaah.
Had a four year old challenge my right not to let him in to look round the museum alone.
Heard the cat whinging about being shut in the garage and let him out to find him COVERED in chips of cedar wood. He's the nicest smelling cat evah!
Watched a mistle thrush singing like crazy at the top of a lilac tree as the storm clouds massed behind him a similar colour to the flowers.
Wondered what happened to some of the LJ people I used to natter to and decided to bother them again from time to time.
