Just had a 'Shelob moment' up in the bathroom.

Y'see there was a little spider spinning a web up by the light and the light threw a perfect scary spider shaped shadow on the wall about two feet across.

Ewwwwwwwwwww - all those legs!!! And they were moving!!!

Yeah I know I shouldn't be scared of spiders and they do no harm and yaddayadda but this is a gut level phobia and I almost scrabbled my way through the door panel before my brain started to work again.

Now I feel daft and the spider has finished his/her web. It's very pretty.

Woahjeeze... Your bathroom does not give much in the way of room to back away in either. Still, better you found the spider and gathered your wits back in a timely manner. Could you imagine the scene if Sirius, the Destroyer of Worlds, found the poor sucker?

I wasn' affraid of spiders until tolkien taugth me how to describe onei nsucha way that thaty oucan't sleep atn ight. (or is it my vivid imagination perhaps? I know he's notthe kign of horror but he definitly is the king of vivid descriptive prose...)
