Oct. 1st, 2006 01:55 pmIt is piddling down with rain - great lashing chunks of it falling out of the sky and bouncing off everything. Both cats are out there hiding under an upturned wheelbarrow and staring, huge-eyed and outraged, at the wet. The dog thinks it's huge fun and in prancing around in it, occasionally splashing into the pond to scare the fish, who have all come to the surface to enjoy the freshness.
When the dog gets wet his coat crimps and goes incredibly soft so I've got a curly pooch at the moment. He woke me up at 4.30 this morning and if he does it again I think I might treat myself to a nice soft black rug.
With so much water falling from the sky it's quite ironic that the guy down the road has put a pickaxe through the main and had to turn the water to the street off. Luckily I filled the kettle just before. If we've got tea we can live without washing.

I'll give it some thought.
