This meme is going around and I filled it in on a couple of journals and since the perquisite seems to be to post it in turn I am doing so. There are quite a lot of questions but the answers would be interesting plus I have added a couple of my own.

I'm wordy so I split this - part 1

3. What talent(s) do you wish you had?: to read sheet music and/or play an instrument
4. Describe for me your favourite place?: The scond back courtyard in summer - benches and tables outside, low buildings, a post-indutrial shabbiness, Falk's huge potted plants in their huge pots, the dature suaveolens especially, with its heady scent; a large yellow sun sail, a tiny madonna in a niche high up, and interesting people passing through. Nicest place to sit and read there is. It was even better when the dog was still there, but you can't have everything.-
5. Favourite vegetable? how do you like it?: Leeks. In cheese sauce. Cooked by my sister.
6. What was the last book you read? what did you think about it?: I am reading 'Dancer' by Colum McCann, a novel about Rudolf Nureyev. I happened on it by chance, thought it was a entirely lucky chance as I'm using him on the icons of
7. What kind of Tattoos and/or Piercings do you have?: Ordinary pierced ears, and a symbol from my favourite Ursula LeGuin novel, 'Always Coming Home', tattooed on my right shoulder. I don't get tattoos for all books I read, though!

3. What talent(s) do you wish you had?: ability to speak other languages
4. Describe for me your favourite place?: The beach on a cool day, with a light breeze and no one else around.
5. Favourite vegetable? how do you like it?: potato - just about any way you can cook it, I probably like it.
6. What was the last book you read? what did you think about it?: Do Comic books count? If not it was The Dragon Reborn by Robert Jordan. It's the third in the Wheel of Time series, and I enjoyed it very much.
7. What kind of Tattoos and/or Piercings do you have?: thee holes in each ear

Date: 2007-01-08 07:50 pm (UTC)2. What is your philosophy(ies) on life?: I can't define that; it shifts and develops. If it wouldn't develop any more, that's when I'd get worried - life is cosntant change, after all. I guess that is one?
3. Are you a Negative or Optimistic person?: Optimistic, but with a large dose of snark.
4. What was your dream growing up?: be a writer
5. Worst thing to ever happen to you?: my best friend in Finland died in 1992 when he was 28, in a drunken fall from a window, and the aftermath got really ugly between his parents, his ex-girlfriend and his gay lover. Nothing is worse than a bunch of deeply unhappy people fighting over a dead loved one.
6. What is/are your favorite animal(s)?: Lucifer, of course, my cat!
7. Tell me one weird fact about you?: Only one?? Oh dear. How about the fact that none of the pictures on my walls is just decoration; each of them has a looooong story I could tell about it? Or the fact that I've got almost all the 'Asterix' comics and a fair bit of Tintin - in Finnish? Ot that I don't have a bed - I sleep on to stacked mattresses?
8. What is your favourite period of art?: Impressionism, I guess. If I have to commit myself to only one.

17. If you legally won a million dollars, cash in hand, what would you do with it? That wouldn't be enough to buy the house from under the noses of the building site orcs and their bosses; so I guess I'd buy myself a flat.
18. What is your worst fear?: Ask me again at three a.m. on a sleepless night; whatever's my worst fear of the moment is probably going round my head then. I have a very active imagination, and there are many ways the world could go wrong...
19. What is/are your favourite thing(s) to do in your spare time?: Collaborative Storytelling, also known as RPing *grins*
20. What is your favoirite type of music? if so, any favourite artists:? Crossover between hard and melodic, classical even - my favourite artist still are Apoalyptica
21. Can you sing, dance, or play an instrument?: I could sing well enough for the church choir in East Wittering; otherwise, no.-

Date: 2007-01-08 09:29 pm (UTC)2. What would you do if you were stuck in an elevator?: Panic! I'm really scared of being stuck in lifts.
3. What talent(s) do you wish you had?: Lots of things. Writing, drawing, being able to play sport. Being able to socialise better. I could go on and on.
4. Describe for me your favorite place?: Hmmm. I think my home is my favourite place. It's a small 3 bedroom home, with a small back and front garden, but I've planted lots of trees, which I love.
5. Favorite vegetable? how do you like it?: Hard to choose. I do love roast pumpkin, and I really like cauliflower with cheese sauce too.
6. What was the last book you read? what did you think about it?: It was a biography of Prince Harry, and it was interesting. I didn't learn much, but there were a few new things in it that I hadn't known before.
7. What kind of Tattoos and/or Piercings do you have?: I just have basic pierced ears ... one hole in each ear lobe.
8. One of your worst habit(s)?: LAZINESS. I'm the laziest person I know!

2. What is your philosophy(ies) on life?: I try to treat others how I would like them to treat me. I'm not an intellectual person, so I don't think about this sort of thing much.

5. Worst thing to ever happen to you?: Hmmmm. The birth of my first child was pretty traumatic. I really thought I was going to die. Another thing I found traumatising was when my parents-in-law died within a couple of weeks of each other. I have a phobia about death, and seeing them both die was very upsetting.
6. What is/are your favorite animal(s)?: cats
7. Tell me one weird fact about you?: Only one???I like to eat bread and butter with apricot jam, and a slice of cheese on top.
8. What is your favorite period of art?: I'm not into art, but I'd probably say the Renaiisance (sp?)
9. What is your dream profession?: I don't aspire to much, LOL. I would've liked to have been a librarian ...
