Mine's just spelling. Yeeeeeeeears ago one of my son's mates was quite dyslexic but had an interest in fantasy RP on an old ezboard site. He asked me if I'd write there with him but said I'd need to make a screen name. He also pointed out that the one I was using already made it far too easy to find out who I was IRL. 'What shall I use?' I asked. "Something elvish?' he suggested then it occurred to me that spelling my name - ess ay el - sounded suitable. Since I'm lazy I use it for just about everything including LJ.
Oddly enough, over the years only one person has immediately guessed what it means, and that was
metallumai who asked if essayel=Sal in her first review to one of my stories on Fiction Alley. I guess you need that kind of mind.
Sad picture under the cut.

I had the cats speyed yesterday. Poor dears. But Tabi was OUTRAGED at the plastic collar intended to stop her chewing out her stitches. Note the indignantly fluffed up tail! Actually she's walking backwards - both of them blundered round for about an hour until they learned how big the collar was. After that it was business as normal and they rampaged around demanding food and playing with their toy mouse. We shut them up last night and this morning Tabi is proudly collarless, having levered it off somehow, while Elin is still wearing hers. Tabi looks smug!
Just discovered, to my shock, that I have a Deviant Art account. Now I'm wondering why and what I should do with it.
