I must admit to having been very chary of clicking on the link to this meme on [livejournal.com profile] yakalskovich's journal. Adult questions sounded like something I'd sooner not know about, but I clicked accidentally and whoohoo, decided to do it myself.

1. What bill do you hate paying the most? Community charge, I think, because I know how much of it is wasted.

2. The last place you had a romantic dinner? So long ago I can't recall. I don't really DO romantic.

3. What do you really want to be doing right now? Not this, particularly, but I have writers block.

4. How many colleges did you attend? One college then the Open University to get a degree the hard way.

5. Why did you choose the shirt that you have on right now? Because it was the one I put my hand on.

6. What are your thoughts on gas prices? We don't have gas. Oh - petrol! At the moment I'm paying $7.50 a gallon - how do you think I feel about it?

7. First thought when the alarm went off this morning? No alarm but when I woke up the dog hadn't yet barked so I thought he was dead.

8. Do you miss being a child? Yes and no. I'd love not to have to be responsible all the time.

9. Get up early or sleep in? Up early please.

10. Have you found real love yet? Married 31 years. That must count for something.

11. Favorite lunch meat? Corned beef.

12. What do you get every time you go into Wal-Mart? Don't have it and don't want it.

13. Beach or lake? Beach

14. Do you think marriage is an outdated ritual? No - see Q 10. And it should be available to ANYBODY who wants it.

15. Sopranos or Desperate Housewives? Neither thank you. If that was the only choice I'd use the off button.

16. What famous person would you like to have dinner with? Historical - Cleopatra. Modern - Sir Ian MacKellen.

17. Have you ever crashed your vehicle? No, but someone crashed into me last week. I'm still a bit nervous about it.

18. Ever had to use a fire extinguisher for its intended purpose? No, wished I've had one a couple of times.

19. Ring tone? My phone sort of bleeps.

20. Strangest place you have ever brushed your teeth? In a deconsecrated chapel halfway up Cader Idris.

21. Somewhere in California you've never been and would like to go? I've never been to California. I'd like to drive along that windy road you see in the films.

22. Do you go to church? Only to look at the architecture.

23. At this point in your life would you rather start a new career or a new relationship? Career, relationships are far too hard.

24. How old are you? 52

25. Do you have a go-to person? I AM the go-to person. God, I wish I did.

26. Are you where you want to be in life? Not really but it's too late to moan about it.

27. Growing up, what were your favorite cartoons? See my last post.

28. What about you do you think has changed the most? There's more of me and it creaks and locks up occasionally. If my body was a car I'd have it scrapped.

29. Looking back at high school were they the best years of your life? God no!! What planet are you from?

30. Are there times you still feel like a kid? Yeah it makes a nice change.

31. Did you ever own troll dolls? No, they were scary.

32. Did you have a pager? No.

33. Where was the hang out spot when you were a teenager? There was a bush shelter.

34. Were you the type of kid you would want your children to hang out with? Without wanting to sound big headed, yes. I was quiet, timid and studious until I went to college. A good kid, a bloody ridiculous late teenager.

35. Who do you think impacted your life the most? My parents - who made me quiet and timid and studious as a child. The quietness and timidity have come back, the studiousness didn't.

36. Was there a teacher or authority figure that stood out for you? Mr John Hawkins, my headmaster when I was at primary school. He used to go purple and froth at the mouth and beat children with the board ruler. The more nervous kids [including me] used to wet themselves out of fright. The whole school smelled of pee.

That looks like a fun meme (in spite of the questionable title).

I AM the go-to person.

What, you too? Hmpf, perhaps we all end up on LJ because of a lack of go-to persons for the go-to persons in real life...

Maybe I should have put that I have a whole friends list of go to people? That's often how it works out.

<3 Ian MacKellen.

Also gas prices must suck everywhere. Though they aren't quite that bad here. If they were that high I think people would revolt and start setting pumps on fire.
