I've just watched my huge black dog gallop up the garden path chased by a delighted, high bouncing tiny tabby cat who was trying to pat his 'trousers'.

Animals do raise the spirits.

My cat. For some reason he chases the black one[fairly gently] but the tabby is allowed all kinds of liberties. And boy does she take them.

She bullies him. I can't see why he allows it, but I often see her turf him off the chair so she can have a sleep and he'll lay on the floor beside it until she wakes up and goes away.

Possibly it's because we impressed upon him to play gently with her when she was a kitten because she was too small to get out of his way the way the bigger cat could. Our poor dog - we psychologically emasculated him!

That must have been amusing!
Animals are wonderful at raising our spirits, making us laugh and even making us feel better when we're ill or depressed. They amaze and add so much to life, they're family members to me!
