Man: *sniffing dismissively at our longbow* That's only a little one that is. The biggest one ever made was a 250lb draw weight and was owned by Robin Hood.

Apparently he has seen the paperwork for it.

In other slightly bouncy museumy news, it seems that my nattering on about all the best pirates being Welsh has born fruit and we're going to try and get a 'pirate' exhibition together for next summer.

All together now "Arrrrrhhhh Matey!"

A real time traveler in your museum! How exciting! ;)

We get 'em all the time.

Henry VIII is the king everyone seems to have heard of so he gets put into all kinds of roles - like losing the Battle of Hastings and being forced to marry Duke William's sister or marrying Marie Antoinette or discovering gravity when an apple fell on his head.

I guess history really is what you remember.

What the heck did he mean by paperwork anyway? Did Robin Hood have to apply for a licence for a longbow or something.

Ah, people, an endless source of silliness to lighten the day.

"My uncle showed it me in a book!" he said and I guess that clinches it. If it's in a book it has to be true.

Oh, well, if it was in a book! Then of course! The only better source is "a bloke down the pub who says he used to be in the SAS."
