Good humour has evaporated like the morning dew because while I went out to fetch Jenny from school one of the local intellegentsia tried to burgle us. Luckily Mike arrived home as he was poking around and, even luckier, he legged it rather than giving Mike a whack. Mike naturally was rattled and rang the police who will send a SOCO when one's available. Until then I can't touch anything the 'kid' (the word I'm really thinking does begin with a 'k' sound)might have touched and this means my laptop! Mike recognised the 'boy' (the word I'm really thinking does begin with a 'b' sound)so maybe at some time someone will go round and speak sharply to him.
So I won't be able to write tonight either....Paul, fancy an early night?

Oh how horrible for you! :(( And lucky for Mike. An older 'kid' probably would have belted him one.

Thanks. I'm more annoyed than anything. The 'kid' is a bit older than Mike, who knows him, but when Mike and his tiny girlfriend (she's about 4 ft 10 and must weigh 80lb soaking wet) came in must have thought that two stick thin Goths were more than he could cope with.
I wonder if we could use this as an excuse to get a 'guard' dog? A big black one would be nice.

Is there any kind worth having? It would have to be able to do tricks though.

Waah, poor Sally!! I will send you my puppy Hershey for protection - he is small, but he thinks he is big, and he barks at everything that moves (and some things that don't).
