Sundays are awkward days because my routine goes all to cock so I'm not happy with my total today. It' creeping up though.

Sir George was staring at a little man who had just come aboard. He was grinning and had two sodden books and a packet of papers in his hand.
“Now, who tried to throw these away,” he crowed. “Got a bone ter pick with you. They fucking well near brained me.”
He was sitting astride the gunwale, just a few paces away, and Kit might have reached him if he hadn’t slipped a little in Vargas’s blood. That little stumble cost him his advantage and his guard roared and swiped him with the butt of his gun. Kit took the blow on his shoulder instead of his head but it still drove him to one knee. He was hit again, a glancing blow, as he rose but managed to get a hand on the packet with the admiralty seal and tear it away. But that was the last useful thing he did as the pirate’s fury broke over him like a heavy sea, smashing him down to the deck.

Can I just say - James May's Man Lab - BEST TV SHOW EVER!!! I so need to work the "Powder of Sympathy" into my story some how, though probably without traumatising the dog by playing it a CD of Susan Boyle.

Eek! I suddenly wish I had an icon with Fred Savage saying, "Captured by pirates is good." Even though it looks to me like captured by pirates isn't at all good for poor Kit.

I'd been trying to remember where "pirates could happen to anyone" came from. Awww I really need to get another copy of The Princess Bride. I need a fix of Inigo Montoya.

No point having a hero if you don't torture him a little :D

Actually I believe "Pirates Could Happen to Anyone" is from Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead by Tom Stoppard. :) Which is as classic, in its own way, as The Princess Bride.
