Creative comforts

I've just been linked to a blog post by a professional cartoonist and found it a great comfort, especially today when I'm looking at my work load and my real-life and online commitments and wondering whether it's worth doing other stuff just because I really enjoy it.

Anyhow, because I felt enheartened by it I thought I'd provide a link - here - for anyone else who's feeling a bit lost and drifty and uncertain at the moment.

Doing something just because you really enjoy it is the best ever reason for doing something!! And there's the secondary reason that you're really really good at it. All the while I've known you, I have been charmed and impressed by you and your skills, and encouraged in my own efforts to make some sort of art. You are a talented, kindly, often hilarious, intelligent, perceptive lady and I'm delighted to be your friend. (Even if you don't like commas!)

That was a beautiful read and one I identify with. I'm an ex-ballet dancer, unable to do it professionally, but I still do some and it's for me. It's so enlightening, spiritual and fullfils me in a way that nothing else can. I do it for me...and yes, it is enough!
