Bloody thing has wandered off. I haven't written anything for real for ten days now and it can't just be because I'm getting to the end of the story because it's holding true right across the board. None of the WIPs are P-ing at all.

I think it's gonna hafta be back to paper and pen for a while.

Do something completely different for a bit? Pottery? Painting? Gardening? Making jam? Fletching arrows?

Maybe the muse needed a fortnight in Majorca. Good thing is, ten days are already over.-

Bugger the Muse. I think that we need a fortnight in Majorca. No responsibilities, no expectations, no peace-keeping, no pressure - I'd sleep for three days, read a lot, see a few sights and go for long gentle walks thinking about nothing in particular. I haven't had a break since April 2009 and for poor Paul it's been longer than that.

Then book a holiday in Majorca? When is the next break?

Pack some colourful clothes, some nice books, some sunscreen, leave Jen in charge of the animals and some friendly neighbourhood domme in charge of Jen, and off you go! The inside of Majorca is quite hiking-friendly and beach orc free, you get nice little restaurants with genuine Spanish cooking, and lots of interesting sights to see.

Alternatively, try the Canaries if you avoid Gran Canaria or Teneriffa. Or Madeira -- Sphinx went there once, and loved it very much. I would have said Malta, for prehistoric sights and footsteps of Lymond (I would love to once do that tour of the Knights' castle that we see through his eyes, for a rare change, and keep going 'Why is Francis Crawford of Lymond relegated to being our effing tour guide???' until we realise, later, that he got captured at the end), but I suspect that they're busy with processing refugees from the Libyan civil war in Malta at the moment, and that it would be counterproductive to go there. To say nothing of slightly danger-fraught, which would not be conducive to relaxation...

All very good advice. I'd love to go to Malta again.I went when I was 17 and it made a huge impression on me, and that was before I read the Lymond books. Sometime, eh?

Sometime. I want to go, too, actually. We should go together.-

But for now, Majorca? Madeira? La Gomera, for you and your husband to properly relax and let it all hang loose?

It's a nice idea and I will cherish it. At the moment he won't even go to the cinema.

Maybe there's a MuseCon? They'll come staggering back with their costumes in tatters, reeking of tequila and with hickeys in funny places and expect aspirin and sympathy before getting back to work again.

The dears.

HA!!! I think they all go out to some special Muse Club together, drink too much, dance the night away then collapse anywhere they can find and never bother to come home, can't even find the time to call etc etc...

I suspect mine's down at the docks waving at the sailors. He doesn't get a lot of that kind of action from me, poor thing.

But he could ring *shakes head*

:D we love 'em really.

I suspect I just need to turn the internet off and get my head down and finish something.
