Hopping on the bandwagon to do this, just like sollersuk and atthe_algonquin.

In 2011 I am living in South Wales in a three floor late-Victorian end of terrace wreck with my husband and daughter.

In 2001 ditto plus son

In 1991 I was living in South Wales in a mid-Victorian stone terraced house with husband and son.

In 1981 I was living in South Wales in a top floor flat of a Georgian building in the main street with husband.

In 1971 I was living in an early 17th century black and white timbered house in Herefordshire with my parents

In 1961 I was living in a 1930s semi in East London with my parents.

I really resent that 1930s property. It spoils the nice progression through the ages.

Hey Sal, I have a question! What town do you live in in Wales? I'm hopefully going to be that way visiting within the next year, and will probably be in Newport (Pembrokeshire) and Llanelli. I'd love to get to meet you, seeing as I've internet friended you for so many years!

I'll definitely let you know when we finally make it over. I've been tracing my family history and it seems that most of us came from Wales and Ireland, so I'm trying to locate specific towns.

1890 the builder who put up our place cut all the corners he could. Shallow foundations, no damp course, inadequate drainage etc. Then, to put the cherry on the cake, some mad DIYer in the sixties took out all the interesting period bits and replaced them with formica and plastic and hardboard. And then my husband's family bought the place and papered over the cracks for 30 years.

It's fun in a chilly and exasperating way.

The progression through the ages is nice indeed (and shame on your parents for not finding something from Tudor times for 1961 ;)).

My version of this meme would be very boring. I have never moved house (and the house I am living in is an equally uninteresting 1950s building built by my architect grandfather).
