Since this post I have gulped down A Game of Thrones in great big trunks [it almost made me late for work twice] and am desperate for 20th March [pay day] to come along so I can buy the rest. Such a well constructed story!
I'm not sure I have the energy to be a bona fide fan but I really want to know what happens next!
As for characters, the story arcs are such that I don't need to like any of them. They do shitty stuff but in the majority of cases there are sound emotional reasons for what they do. In the cases where there aren't obvious reasons - all the Lannisters apart from Tyrion - the characters come across as standard villain types, but I'm assuming we'll get to see inside their heads at some point.
I love the world building for the Dothraki [I am a big fan of the Scythians] and want to know more about the Wall and what lies beyond it.
*whimpers* the rest are sitting in my Amazon basket.
Ah well, I could always fill in the 8 days by re-reading some of yours. I'd write my own but since Madam came home I've been too distracted. She brought 8 people home from the pub with her last night and they partied just loudly enough to keep me awake 'til dawn. All my characters are wrapped in their hammocks or cloaks or whatever and are groaning and saying 'nooooo - I have a headache'.
