Just a little reminder that it doesn't actually matter whether what you do is particularly good as long as you enjoyed doing it and are left with a feeling of satisfaction. There are no rules about creating things. Ideally they shouldn't hurt anyone else, or incite anyone else to be hurt, but otherwise let the imagination run free. Anything you make is valid as long as it pleases YOU.

And if the art you draw, the story you write, the hat you trim, the scarf you knit, the cake you bake, causes only one other person to smile, then it's doubly worth while.

Make, draw, bake, trim, knit, write and never doubt that it was time well spent.

Thank you. I needed to hear that. I get the doubts quite a lot.

I think we all do if we care about what we're doing. We're bound to feel some doubt about our skill, craft, taste. That's the way we improve.

But sometimes it's so hard to get past them!

Thank you for this. I've been getting the doubts more and more lately... :/ It's nice to have a reminder like this to look on when things are particularly gloomy. Like a motivational poster. :)

Also, that link is really beautiful too.

*hugs* it's a lovely cartoon, isn't it, and applies equally well to writers as well as artists.

Thank you, both for the link and for your words. You can't know it, but you probably just saved a story from remaining unfinished. These past few days, I have been very close to giving up, so this really helps a lot.

No idea. Her online ID is Jelly Vampire, which is fun. But the cartoon strip is fantastic.
