Any day you come home with more books than you went out with is a good one and today I have LOTS.

2 packages from Amazon on my desk at work this morning. One is the L to Z volume of the Dictionary of Slang. I got volume one last week not realising it was only A to K and was fairly peeved. The other book, which I'm dying to dip into is Greek Fire, Poison Arrows and Scorpion Bombs. I'm wondering how many plot bunnies I'll glean from that.

I also tried to take advantage of the All Romance Ebook sale this weekend but it must only apply to US customers. I had to pay full price for what I ordered, but still - BOOKS. Never a bad thing. I'll ration myself though because I've almost finished a story!!

Yep another thousand or fifteen hundred words should do it and with Write or Die that should be a piece of cake. I had a play at lunchtime and bashed out 620 words in 20 minutes. They might not be particularly GOOD words, but there they are and I can apply a bit of polish and cut out the dead wood later.

So for the moment colour me chuffed :D

Re ARe: You should find that you have the 50% rebate available as ebook Bucks to spend on future purchases - go through My Libary and assign them to yourself to access (I think).

Oh brilliant! More books. This will whittle down my TBR list a bit. Many thanks.

Awww, thank you. Maybe we should have a look at our bookshelves before the meet and see if we can organise a reference book swap? Or are we already going to be carting so much stuff about that it would get unwieldy?

that's a very good idea. I'm coming in the car, so that's not a problem!

I have enough books in my 'to read' pile to last me the rest of the year.

Mine's pretty horrendous too, but works of reference are always welcome even if not immediately useful. I never know what I'll need to look up for the people for whom I beta read. :D

That Greek book looks positively right up my alley - I'll have to see if I can find it available for the U.S. :)

I first saw it on Amazon dot com, I think it is an American publication. I haven't read it yet, but it looks like there's some good stuff in it.

More books are always good, and the warfare book sounds fascinating (if there are any particularly interesting tidbits, will you post about them on LJ?).
