That's interesting. We were sort of having an early spring. This picture shows our garden earlier in the week, then everything went pear-shaped, and it's been freezing and rainy ever since.
"The end of summer" is delightfully ambiguous. We have glorious tee-shirt days in October sometimes. I dunno. It just seems as though the year has flown by.
I wanted to get my 2010 Nanowrimo done and dusted before starting the 2011 effort. It's not actually that long now.
Yes, that bad weather in December knocked me right out of my writing routine, then my daughter came home from uni and never went back so I lost my quiet space. :( I'm trying to find another one that she won't encroach upon.
I have 75K words of pirate novel. another 15K would do it and then I can concentrate on post-Roman-Celts. See I have a plan - I just need to stick to it.
Let's hope for a glorious Indian summer. Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness and all that jazz.
Aw, hope you find a good writing space soon. That's so important - I find it very hard when I'm home at my parents. My mum is forever bustling in!!!
Oooooh, I'm excited at the prospects of both Pirates and post-Roman Celts. I have a vague plan for an early stage Romano-British story myself...won't be getting to it 'til next year, mind, if at all!!
Ooooooooooh, superb!! Pre-modern history is not my area of expertise, although I have been taking a certificate in Ancient History (very slowly in my spare time) and been desperate to write something set around the C1 period of early 'Romanisation' for ages. I could definitely do with an expert to consult :D *bounces*
Beltane to Summer Solstice's my favourite time of year. I can usually convince myself into continuing the delight through July, but then there is that one point where the smell changes. It goes dry around the edges.
And since Fall is my least favourite time of year, poor little August is usually a tiny bit coloured with dread and that saps a little of the joy of the remaining few glorious days.
:D they are looking for a suitable careening beach on the Grenadines that will give them a chance to get ashore for a little privacy - and probably fade to black because I'm sure I'd write it wrong.
