I'm listening to Radio 4 with fingers as above [uncrossed temporarily to type, of course] because there are over 60 thousand Welshmen packed into the Millenium stadium and the Today programme has promised to broadcast them at the end of the programme if they sing. Well, 60 thousand Welshmen - they are bound to sing but it would be grand to hear them. Just once I was in Cardiff walking past the old Arms Park when they were singing the lads on. The ground shook. I felt it in my chest. It was awesome!

How marvellous - everyone knows what beautiful voices the Welsh have.

This is less about beauty than power and intimidation, but yes they have very fine voices.

Awwww. I bet. I have two in my garden at the moment, drinking beer and dissecting every play.

Your lads done well. You'd have won it had Mr Warburton possessed a brain.

I think Mr Hook did his part as well, bless him. "Rabbit in the headlights" is one of the kinder comparisons I've heard today.

Oh wouldn't the final have been glorious if they had won. I fear the French will be steam rollered.

Yep. You'd have still lost with 15 men if you can't get more than 1 kick in 7 over.

The French are totally unpredictable. They could just do it...

Well, the New Zealander's do this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uHW1K2LeQXE&feature=related) and the Welsh sing to make your ribs quake. I'm not sure either are organised or expensive enough for baseball.

My Welsh brother-in-law claims he's the only Welshman in Swansea who doesn't play rugby and can't sing.

Mind you, I bet he was watching on telly or listening on the radio.

Oh I bet he was. It was pretty much compulsory and I don't bother much with sport.

I have to admit to getting all pink and thoughtful when I watch the rugby though. All that graceful muscle!
