Why are there fresh raspberries growing in my garden? Plump and red. It's December!

Nice!

Blackberries belong to the devil after the end of September, but raspberries are fair game.

I remember finding tiny wild strawberries in a meadow on December 6th a few years ago...

Plants get confused-- a couple of years ago I picked iris from my garden to put on the table at Thanksgiving. Something to do with hours of light, and they think it's spring again or something.

Good Q. There are some berries that grow in winter months, i'm not sure what they are, but there are some that look like raspberries.

I usually get a second flush of a few raspberries in October, sometimes into early November. I looked out of the window this week, and spotted several still-green ones on one of the branches. 'WTF?' I thought... Must go out and have a closer look this weekend.

We had some through the first week of November, until a hard frost. We usually have snow here in Ontario by the first week of November. Oh, no, global warming is just a myth. right.

Lots of razberries are two-crop varieties - early summer and mid-fall.
Yum.

They are not raspberries. They are Shaneberries, appearing in honour of the little Welsh whizz (aka chez nous as dopey from Snow White) and his imminent retirement.

Hmmm...I like that. I think I'll toddle into my backyard and see if my canes have produced any for December...
