Jul. 14th, 2008 08:19 pmIt's been one of those weekends. No really! I've been cleaning and stuff, looking forward to having ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
metallumai to stay with us prior to Sidmouth Folk Week and idly planning meals and drinks and things to do [if I can persuade anyone to cover my job at the museum]. Labour saving devices are really handy at times like these and I thought 'well at least I don't have to worry about the dishes' because dishwashers are so handy.
Then mine caught fire. Yeah I know, things full of water shouldn't catch fire but mine did. So now the kitchen smells of burnt electrics, which are unpleasantly fishy. I'm hoping the smell will fade, but the dishwasher is wrecked. I think I feel less aggreieved about it than Jen because she knows I'm likely to ask her to dry the dishes I wash.
However it hasn't all been a disaster because we've got some additional family members who have turned up and I'd like to introduce them to you. ( Read more... )
