essayelFolks, what can I say? Thank you so much - I've had a very nice weekend!
Actually, I had a pretty cool week. I spent two days as a Roman doing schools events with my friends Val and Kay who were Celts - where else can you get to dress up, wave swords around and sacrifice three virgins a day - and get paid for it?
Then on Thursday I went to see Lindisfarne - a pop group from the 70's who were even older than me - and got to bounce around to the music. They may have been grey around the muzzle and a bit spindly in the shank but they could still play their instruments a treat and sing like nobody's business!
Friday I went out on the razz to help a friend celebrate her retirement with a meal and so forth.
Saturday I messed around on the net a lot, did a wheelbarrow load of betaing then ate a meal cooked for me by Paul -spatchcocked chicken cooked with honey and red wine - and a cake cooked for me by Jenny. She baked a spoon into it by accident but it still tasted fine! I have had book tokens, Mike bought me a copy of The Soddit or Let's Cash In Again by A R R R Roberts, and Mike's little lady Laura gave me The Little Book of Stupid Men which contains such gems as 'why do stupid men drive BMWs? Because they can spell it' (I have no hesitation in posting this here because I know that no stupid men will read it and be offended). slightlyjillian - thanks girls, that really made me gulp! - and a lovely pic from [Unknown site tag]. Now I'm racking my brains for the best way to reciprocate - except in slightlyjillian's case where I know exactly what she requires!
