Aaargh! I'm going crazy here. New computer equipment installed, old software sorted out and installed where appropriate but...and it's a big but...the only place for it to be is the sitting room and the bloody television is on - always - at volume. Even when it isn't being watched it is used as a sort of 'wallpaper' as background noise. Now, when I used to write, I'd take myself off somewhere really quiet where I could concentrate. I find that if I can hear human voices I tend to type what they are saying rather than what I want to type. It drives me bananas!
Roll on the spring and light mornings - I can get up at 5am and write then.

Actually that's an idea. I'll do some research - especially the idea of the Eastenders dialogue. I think Draco could drawl "Sorted" in a very provocative way.

I know the feeling: 5am is when I do most of my writing.

But it can be done: you'll get used to it, believe it or not. Our family computer is in the dining room, which means the center of traffic: no doors in this house, only big archways. If I can snag the computer during the day, with kids and husband coming and going, I do it, and sometimes actually write.

I bought some headphones so I can listen to bland classics but I must have little ears or something because they keep falling out. I'm off into town just now to buy duct tape!
