essayel I hate the DVLC
For anyone who lives in the UK that simple phrase is enough.
For non-UK residents some explanation is needed. The DVLC (and don't ask me what it means) are the people to whom we have to pay money in order to drive on the public roads or park on them. We pay once a year or every six months. IThey have recently changed all the rules and are supposed to send out reminder letters 2 weeks before your renewal date to give you time to do it - NOT so the letter arrives on a Saturday when one is at work and the cut off date is the Monday immediately following which is a bank holiday so the post office is shut so one can't do it until the following day whereupon one automatically incurs a £80.00 fine!
The measures introduced to combat the boy racers will just clobber people like me who have short term memory problems and a poor grasp of what time of year it is.
Oh shit - it's my own fault but still jolly annoying!!
However, reasons to be cheerful - i wrote part of a story today about neville failing his OWLs and transferring to a polythechnic.
