You should train the dog to be walked in the pre-dawn hours of EST (Eastern Standard) or maybe Maine/Newfi time.

I'll put that to him as a ffiendly suggestion, however I suspect that the root of the problem is the cat who makes a bit of a 'thing' of jumping into his pen to steal his food [the pooch just looks on too astounded to do anything about it] and then climbs out again, using the wire mesh as a ladder.

Under such provocation I suppose he can be forgiven for barking - but not by me.
