I wouldn't normally read the Sun but happened to spot this headline SAS men protect Harry Potter star.

Okay - who is it? Own up.

Also meme -

You're 60% Irish

You're very Irish, and most likely from Ireland.

(And if you're not, you should be!)

British is a nice safe thing to say. I am technically English, having been born in London, but I daren't show any signs of being proud of that or I'd be accused of supporting the British Nazi Party or something.

I'm also 60% Irish, which would most likely come as a surprise to my ancestors-- though you never know. My grandpa came over here at the age of 12 with his dad and new stepmother, whom he hated-- he ran away as soon as they landed and never told anyone his right name or anything for years-- maybe never.

I think my Irishness is mostly acquired, though: nobody ever drank Guinness or any other spirits when I was little-- we weren't Catholic, we didn't have wakes... The only thing I identify from childhood in the meme was the potatoes and the boiled dinner.

Reading through that quiz it occurred to me that anyone who has lived as long as me and has a fairly relaxed attitude to trying things would score high. None of those were exclusively Irish traits but easy enough to acquire over the years.

Anyone 20 or under who scored high would probably be from a rural community in Mayo - IF they can get on the net there. I understand a lot of Eire is still on dial up.
