Since I have been both LJ nudged by zaoben AND poked by IM, I think I ought to post to say yep I'm still alive.

Haven't a vast amount to talk about.

Work sucks. We've had some astonishingly petty behaviour amongst the staff that I just don't understand and I don't like and I don't want to go to work at the moment to find out the latest piece of idiocy.

Luckily the dog can be relied upon to entertain. Yesterday he scampered past me with a string of sausages trailing from his mouth. I gave chase and he spat them out into the pond. Today I spent an increasing anxious five minutes looking for him only to find he had shut himself in the shed.

In other news, Morningstar Manor, the RPG that started in December 2004 is recruiting for new players. I know that nobody here is into that kind of thing [unless it's HP related] but thought I'd just say in case anyone knows anyone who might fancy writing an original character in a carefully plotted environment.

Sunday tomorrow. Having felled part of the front garden today I suppose I should do something about the vegetable plot.

Also Eurovision!!! Yay the Finns!!! Yay the Latvians!! and am I the only person who thinks the Lithuanian contestant looks like something from Anita blake and sings like a strangling tom-cat?

What I love about Sirius is that he spat the sausages into the pond! That mental image is going to make me smile for a while. The Lithuanian entry scares me. That God-awful noise- *shudder*.

Yeah, and we also have the big disadvantage of being an established site with masses of back story, just as you do.

People much prefer to join a brand new game where they can forge their own way rather than at best having to fit in with but not be included in existing plots. I'm hoping that the way we are set up would allow people to start completely new storylines just using the world as a kick off point.

In any case I hope you find half a dozen new players who can do the same in your world and if there are spares, send them our way. The way it's going I give MM another 3 months before it's not really going to be worth posting in it.

That's the big danger of RP - the lives we create can become so much more fun than our own that RL gets neglected. I'm guilty of this too. I used to draw every day - that stopped when I started writing big time.
