Not really, of course. They wouldn't have been allowed to build that huge machine and turn it on if it was really going to make black holes - would they?

But just in case - *looks at watch, eleven minutes and counting* - it's been nice, guys.

Oh anf if we all survive til lunchtime there's this to listen to either in real time or on the BBC 'Listen Again' service. Trust Cap'n Jack to get in on the fun!

*runs in, hugs hard, goes back to hiding under the desk*

Love you hun! And I can not believe the panic this is causing, I have no doubt that the experiment will not cause the end of all life on earth, pish, if they thought it might, they wouldn't do the experiment, right?

Er, i am right about that, right?.... *wibbles quietly*

Is it really causing panic?

BBC radio has been trailing their new Torchwood radio episode heavily, with a bit of dialogue featuring Cap'n Jack Harkness explaining to the CERN staff that "he's in charge now" or words to that effect - now that would make me panic!

It's not with me or anyone I know, but I understand from [livejournal.com profile] anghara13 that it is in some quarters. I just posted for a joke and because, bafflingly, I've seen nothing at all about it on my flist.

Yeah, Jack walking in and taking over anything is an indication that something hideous is about to come oozing up through the floorboards.

I'm rather chuffed that it's a Welshman who's i/c the project.

Of course you're right. And no need for wibbling. God wouldn't be so cruel as to end the world when you're booked to go to Disneyland.

It's the ultimate boy toy!!

"Hey guys, Gotta great idea. Let's spend 15 years and 18 billion on building a HUGE machine to make black holes and see what happens."

"yeah cool!"

Yeah.

*sighs*

I just sort of wish I had never heard of it. And if, like, some black hole happens and grows and eats the earth, then I would be oblivious. It's sort of like that buffy episode. unless I'm mixing up plots lines. anyway.

I love physics, but man. I don't get it.

Actually, everyone has a stay of execution till october. The black holes are possible to occur when they shoot the hadrons at each other. Right now they are only shooting them one direction or the other. They'll start both sides shooting in October.

So relax. :)

God might just do that, I have utter faith in His complete impartiality on this front. Just because I might get something I want is no good reason for Him to stop the end of the world!

Still, not happened yet. We'll see, when it really gets going, if there's anything to really worry about.

October is when the mini-black-holes will start appearing.

Mathematically there's absolutely NO reason to worry.

Mathematically bumble bees can't fly.

Funny old world innit?
