Mine's just spelling. Yeeeeeeeears ago one of my son's mates was quite dyslexic but had an interest in fantasy RP on an old ezboard site. He asked me if I'd write there with him but said I'd need to make a screen name. He also pointed out that the one I was using already made it far too easy to find out who I was IRL. 'What shall I use?' I asked. "Something elvish?' he suggested then it occurred to me that spelling my name - ess ay el - sounded suitable. Since I'm lazy I use it for just about everything including LJ.

Oddly enough, over the years only one person has immediately guessed what it means, and that was [livejournal.com profile] metallumai who asked if essayel=Sal in her first review to one of my stories on Fiction Alley. I guess you need that kind of mind.

Sad picture under the cut.

I had the cats speyed yesterday. Poor dears. But Tabi was OUTRAGED at the plastic collar intended to stop her chewing out her stitches. Note the indignantly fluffed up tail! Actually she's walking backwards - both of them blundered round for about an hour until they learned how big the collar was. After that it was business as normal and they rampaged around demanding food and playing with their toy mouse. We shut them up last night and this morning Tabi is proudly collarless, having levered it off somehow, while Elin is still wearing hers. Tabi looks smug!

Just discovered, to my shock, that I have a Deviant Art account. Now I'm wondering why and what I should do with it.

I'd actually assumed that essayel = Sal, but it seemed so obvious to me that I didn't bother mentioning it! Too many years trying to do the Times cryptic crossword, I expect...

Poor kitties!

And yeah, I'd assumed it, too. *g*

Whoa!! More clever people. That's always nice to know. Unfortunately my brain isn't the least bit cryptic. I tend to go for the general knowledge option when choosing crosswords to do.

Both kitties have their collars off now and seem to have lost interest in their stitches. It's much more fun to play and sit on the window sill making faces at birds.

Awwwww Tabi!

And I think I realised what your username stood for about three month after meeting you, or so. Then I did a major facepalm, groaned loudly, and felt very stupid at not having realised sooner.-

As for the DeviantArt: why not draw something deviant, scan it, and post it there?

I have one as well, but I only made that for age verification, so I could see NSFW drawings by somebody else... **blushes*

I probably made my account for the much the same reason - Irana used to have an account there.

To celebrate it's discovery I posted a drawing there.

They put one of those collars on Crash when he had minor surgery-- the collar never made it out of the vet's office. He had it off in SECONDS.

Smart dog. He knew how silly he looked and didn't have to accept insult as well as injury!

I never figured that Essayel meant "Sal". I assumed it was some cool character name in an obscure fantasy book. How are things, anyway?

Hey babes!! Nice to hear from you.

Things are okay. We've had Sky installed and Jen and Paul scrap over who gets to watch what so I just mess around online.

I wish I was a cool character in a fantasy novel but I have a nasty feeling I'd just be one of the Redshirts.
